Packing for Move-in? Go Green!

August is right around the corner, which means it’s almost time for Hunker Down with Housing 2015! Whether you are returning to live on campus for another year or moving in for your first year at UGA, you might have a lot of stuff on your initial packing list. A lot of that stuff is essential to your academic success—books, computer, snacks to fuel your study sessions. Some of that stuff is exactly what you need to relax after a long day of school and activities—a comfy futon or chair, your favorite pillow from home. But some of that stuff will cause clutter and possibly even waste.

University Housing is committed to reducing our impact and encouraging environmentally relevant behavior. We do our part to provide opportunities for students to get involved in sustainability initiatives, including new recycling bins in each residence hall, the EcoReps hall council position, sustainability programming, and a variety of water- and energy-efficient fixtures.

Before you even get to UGA for the fall, you have the opportunity to “go green” while you are preparing for the upcoming year. Follow our Go Green Packing List to do your part to reduce your environmental impact and make the move to UGA even easier!
